The content of the course includes the following:

• Introduction

• Categories of terrestrial ecosystems

• Categories of wetlands

• Values and functions of terrestrial ecosystems

• Values and functions of wetlands

• Pressures and threats to terrestrial and wetland ecosystems

• Tackling the degradation of terrestrial and wetland ecosystems

• Wetland management (watershed management, combined with other scientific fields (e.g. Hydrology, Mountain Hydrology, technical projects, primary production activities).

• Assessment, mapping and monitoring of terrestrial and wetland ecosystems

• Restoration of terrestrial and wetland ecosystems

Laboratory exercises Field exercises on terrestrial and wetland ecosystems, collecting plant species, vegetation sampling, collecting and analyzing soil and water samples, completing protocols to assess the conservation status of habitat types and ecosystems.
